Mar 27 @ 6:00 PM
We meet once a month to discuss the same book we’re all reading.  Those books are chosen off from a range of topics centered on Microsoft Development Technology.  We usually get between 30 –  50 members each month.  We have hosted the tracks such as – C# and .NET, WPF 4, SQL/LINQ/Entity Framework, and Javascript, Python.

To sign up for the Tech Immersion SIG – Sign up Here: http://www.meetup.com/San-Diego-Technology-Immersion-Group-SDTIG/

Members help each other overcome stumbling blocks while learning new technology.   In addition, we have mentors (experts) helping us understand all this new stuff.

We are a special interest group (SIG) of the San Diego .NET User’s Group.

Rapidly Creating Applications Using Blazor/Razor Components with Michael Washington @ AMN Healthcare
Apr 2 @ 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

RSVP: https://www.meetup.com/San-Diego-NET-Users-Group/events/259859601/

Blazor is a .NET web framework using C# and HTML that runs in the browser. It allows you to create modern applications using little to no JavaScript.

Razor Components, currently in preview, and expected to be released with .Net 3.0, allows you to run Blazor server-side, and allows you to use Azure SignalR Service to provide performance and scalability.

In this presentation, you will learn how to quickly get up to speed creating applications using the exciting new technology.

Topics covered include:
– Creating a help world and using step through debugging of client side and server side code
– Reading And Inserting Data Into A Database (End-To-End)
– Creating WYSIWHG (what you see is what you get) Line-Of-Business application using Radzen (https://www.radzen.com)
– Scaling your application using the Azure SignalR Service

Agenda

6:00 PM – 6:25 PM – Pizza and Networking
6:25 PM – 6:40 PM – Opening Remarks
6:45 PM – 8:55 PM – Presentation & QA
8:55 PM – 9:00 PM – Raffles

Networking Game

Part of the goal of the User Group is to promote networking among the members. So I am challenging everyone to meet new people. When you get your pizza, I encourage you to stay in the building lobby and talk to at least two people you have never met before instead of going to sit down in the auditorium

Architecture SIG Monthly Meeting
Apr 10 @ 6:00 PM

The Architecture Roundtable SIG is a group of .Net Senior Developers and Architects who participate in round table discussions and take turns presenting on architecture topics to the group.  Because of the format participation is expected and required of all attendees.  This is great place to get feedback on a design direction or to tell everyone about a cool trick you discovered.  Topics range from design patterns, to inter-process communications, refactoring and agile practices.  Bring your laptops so that you can show off that new piece of code you have just written, or participate in the language debates.

If you wish to apply to join the group please send an email to archsig@sandiegodotnet.com.
