Tech Immersion SIG Monthly Meeting @ Crafting Bytes
Feb 27 @ 6:00 PM
We meet once a month to discuss the same book we’re all reading.  Those books are chosen off from a range of topics centered on Microsoft Development Technology.  We usually get between 30 –  50 members each month.  We have hosted the tracks such as – C# and .NET, WPF 4, SQL/LINQ/Entity Framework, and Javascript, Python.

To sign up for the Tech Immersion SIG – Sign up Here: http://www.meetup.com/San-Diego-Technology-Immersion-Group-SDTIG/

Members help each other overcome stumbling blocks while learning new technology.   In addition, we have mentors (experts) helping us understand all this new stuff.

We are a special interest group (SIG) of the San Diego .NET User’s Group.

“Testing for Developers. Let’s create better code!” with Paul Whitmer & David Kennedy @ AMN Healthcare
Mar 5 @ 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

RSVP: https://www.meetup.com/San-Diego-NET-Users-Group/events/259050652/

Writing code and developing software is fun, but how do we know that our software is actually good – that it behaves as expected? We test it! In this talk, we’ll go over how to get the most out of the code that we write by testing it. We’ll cover different types of testing, such as unit testing, integration testing, stress testing, and fuzz testing, as well as provide some demonstrations.

Agenda

6:00 PM – 6:25 PM – Pizza and Networking
6:25 PM – 6:40 PM – Opening Remarks
6:45 PM – 8:55 PM – Presentation & QA
8:55 PM – 9:00 PM – Raffles

Networking Game

Part of the goal of the User Group is to promote networking among the members. So I am challenging everyone to meet new people. When you get your pizza, I encourage you to stay in the building lobby and talk to at least two people you have never met before instead of going to sit down in the auditorium

Architecture SIG Monthly Meeting
Mar 13 @ 6:00 PM

The Architecture Roundtable SIG is a group of .Net Senior Developers and Architects who participate in round table discussions and take turns presenting on architecture topics to the group.  Because of the format participation is expected and required of all attendees.  This is great place to get feedback on a design direction or to tell everyone about a cool trick you discovered.  Topics range from design patterns, to inter-process communications, refactoring and agile practices.  Bring your laptops so that you can show off that new piece of code you have just written, or participate in the language debates.

If you wish to apply to join the group please send an email to archsig@sandiegodotnet.com.
